How Hallie Biden connected to Hunter Biden gun trial?

Jury selection in the trial of President Biden’s son Hunter began Monday in Delaware.

The role of Hallie Biden, the widow of President Joe Biden’s late son, Beau, is quite important in the trial on federal gun charges against Hunter. Her potential testimony is expected to be critical in his trial.

Hunter is accused of making false statements in a firearms transaction record. He was also accused of violating laws that prohibit drug users from possessing firearms. Prosecutors allege that he was addicted to crack cocaine at the time but he denied this.

In 2018, Hallie Biden, now 50, discovered a new Colt Cobra .38 handgun in Hunter Biden’s truck outside her home, according to federal prosecutors. She reportedly drove to a nearby grocery store and discarded the gun in a trash bin.

Prosecutors plan to include testimony from Hallie Biden as well as from Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle.

Hunter’s former wife has been cooperating with investigators regarding her ex-husband’s business dealings.

Hunter Biden and Hallie Biden began their relationship several months after Buhle filed for divorce and following the death of Beau Biden in 2015.

A federal grand jury charged 54-year-old Hunter in September.

In a separate case in California, he is facing charges that he failed to file taxes, evaded assessment, and filed a false or fraudulent tax return — the charges he has pleaded not guilty.
