Suspected meth dealer struck deputy during chase

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A 49-year-old Henderson man accused of drug dealing is spending some time in the Vanderburgh County Jail.

Around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 3500 block of N. St. Joseph Avenue for a domestic violence report.

Deputies arrived and found the suspect, Tye J. Kruse, walking in the area.

According to an affidavit, deputies were patting Kruse down when he took off running.

During the chase, deputies say Kruse swung an elbow at one of the deputies, giving them an eye injury.

Deputies caught up, took Kruse to the ground and placed him into custody.

During a search, authorities say they found more than $2,000 in cash, baggies of meth, a cell phone and nine assorted storage cards on Kruse.

Based on what was found during the search, authorities believe Kruse is a methamphetamine dealer.

Tye Jason Kruse was arrested without bond and is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Battery Against a Public Safety Official and Manufacture/Dealing Methamphetamine.
