Incendiary fire at Hannibal boat shop under investigation

Hannibal (WGEM) – Hannibal firefighters say a fire at 201 S. 3rd St., which is listed on the Hannibal Chamber of Commerce as Jack’s Harbor Marine Co., Thursday night was incendiary in nature.

That’s the conclusion after investigators from Hannibal police and fire, and the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office were called in.

They were called to the scene, just a block east of Hannibal Fire Station 1 at 8:44 Thursday night, and got the fire under control in about 15 minutes. Crews spent another two hours on scene ejecting smoke and looking for remaining flames.

No injuries were reported.

Individuals with information concerning an incident of suspected arson can call the Missouri Arson Hotline at 1-800-392-7766. There is a $5,000 reward fund associated with the hotline for information that leads to the arrest of suspects in arson cases. Nominations for rewards from the fund can be submitted by any fire service or law enforcement agencies.
