MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Montgomery Ballet has launched a fundraising campaign to help renovate its new building at the Eastbrook shopping center at 405 Coliseum Blvd.
The Montgomery Ballet had to move after its previous location on Fairview Avenue was condemned.
The dance company says the new location has more space but needs significant improvements. It is raising money to help buy new flooring, mirrors, ballet bars and a costume shop.
Administrators say the money will also help create the Montgomery Ballet Studio Theater to host its Mardi Gras and spring productions.
“You’re supporting more than just a Montgomery cultural organization. You’re supporting an organization that reaches out and helps bring art and ballet to the communities around it,” said artistic-executive director Danny Mitsios.
