This increase will affect just over 2,000 products. The average increase will be approximately $0.53.

SAQ said there will be no price changes for 469 products, while prices will decrease for 935 other products.

The state-owned company said it could announce “a negligible average price increase” due to reduced sea transport costs.

“We maintain fair and competitive prices, which are a valuable part of the SAQ customer experience,” said Jack Farsey, SAQ President and CEO. statement. “Every customer can find wine and spirits products that match their expectations and budget.”

The company said other factors also contributed to the price adjustment, including higher production costs for suppliers.

It added that it currently offers a total of 139 products for under $12.

Recommendations from the editorial department

  1. SAQ to cull spirits from shelves as local distilleries struggle

  2. SAQ to raise prices in May as part of price increase
