Men suffer too! – James Gardiner reveals his experience with depression after business failure

One of Ghana’s popular actors, James Gardiner, has revealed that he felt numb and helpless on his birthday.

The talented actor narrated all the setbacks he encountered while setting up several businesses and when everything took a dark turn as a result of unforeseen circumstances.

According to him, he didn’t know what to do on his birthday, so he spent it alone in his room crying.

I intended to write something simple, but I had so much on my mind! I just feel like throwing up! I want to talk to someone, anyone! My heart is heavy! Today is my birthday, but I don’t know what to celebrate! I was in tears this morning. I’m just a young man trying to succeed in this life! Take care of your son and your responsibilities. I’m not competing with anyone! Anyone who knows me knows how pure and sincere I am! My mother raised me that way. I started a rental car company in 2018. Things were going well until the coronavirus pandemic hit. After that, business slumped for about two years. He decided to sell his car and invest in a nightclub in Ghana in hopes of making it big again. But things didn’t go as planned, or maybe not yet! My friends and family weren’t very supportive. The people who supported me did it! Yes, I am working and doing what I love… acting! But I’m not happy! Honestly, I feel empty. Is all this worth it? Is there a module? Although there are many “what ifs” and questions, I am still a happy soul! I still have the most valuable thing – life! Don’t get me wrong, I’m still grateful! I prayed this morning. I thank God for a new chapter. I ignored all calls this morning. So if you’re seeing this post, it’s not intentional. I just need some time to myself, so please be patient! I don’t take failure lightly, but I try my best not to show it! This may be a lot of “nothing”, but hey, at least I got it off my chest! Just know that men go through a lot too and we usually have very few people to run to! So thank you for listening to me lol…please pray for me! I will hold my head high and continue to figure it out! I know I’m stubborn and imperfect! But we are here together now! Happy birthday to us 🎈…we love you all!
