Windsor police are searching for a suspect in a robbery in south Windsor.

Shortly after 9 a.m. on May 18, officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 3200 block of Dougal Avenue and found an unidentified male entering the store. He used a hammer to smash display cases and steal a large amount of items.

He then fled in a black Ram pickup truck.

Approximately 15 minutes after the robbery, the vehicle was tracked to the area of ​​Provincial Road at Howard Avenue just before heading south onto Walker Road. The truck had no front license plate, light-colored wheel rims, a spare tire in the bed and a trailer hitch.

Police are appealing to people who have surveillance cameras or dashcams in the area to check for evidence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830.
