Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding was one of the extravagant events that saw renowned names in the entertainment industry in attendance. In a recent interview, artist Jayasri Burman who hand-painted Radhika Merchant’s gorgeous lehenga revealed that that why it is one-of-a kind and why she can’t recreate another piece like it.

Radhika Merchant’s Shubh Aashirwad Lehenga Can’t be Recreated

After the wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, one grand ceremony was hosted by the family called Shubh Aashirwad in Mumbai. For the the event, Mrs Ambani chose to wore a distinctive piece of clothing. Artist Jayasri Burman collaborated with celebrity stylist Rhea Kapoor and designer Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. In an interview with Money Control, Burman spoke about the memorable lehenga, featuring Kalighat painting and Pattachitra.

Burman stated that the youngest Ambani Bahu personally insisted on wearing one of her creations. Asking whether, she would ever recreate this iconic piece, the artist completely said no, she will not even try. “This was like a new venture and I’m really very happy because I would have not thought of doing something like that. But I’m not going to paint again any lehenga or anything like that. Because this is a piece of art. I will not be able to reproduce a second like that. Impossible. I may paint a little something for my grandchild one day, but nothing commercial. I may try something different on textile.” Burman said.

Radhika Merchant Wants to Get Her Lehenga Framed

In the same interview, Burman revealed that Radhika expressed her desire to frame the lehenga. When she saw the full-piece on video call, she directly said, “Jayasri auntie, I want to frame it. How to frame it, you will tell me.” She also assured her that she would wear it on a “very good occassion.” Radhika wanted to wear it on the wedding day, but she couldn’t as she had to stick to the red and white color scheme as per the rituals.
