Of course, the attention was always on the couple and the high-profile guests in attendance. But some members of the family, too, were in the spotlight, especially Radhika’s family — her parents, sister Anjali, and brother-in-law Aman Majithia, the latter of whom is believed to be a high-net-worth individual.

By relationships, Aman Majithia is now connected to the Ambani family as Anant is now Anjali Merchant’s brother-in-law. Anant is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, the world’s richest Asian who has a net worth of over USD 115 billion (around INR 9.62 lakh crore).

Anant is the head of the energy business of Reliance Industries. Given his position, both as the son of Mukesh Ambani and the head of a major business of the company, Anant is expected to have a net worth of several billions of rupees.

Anjali and Radhika’s father, Viren Merchant, is a renowned name in the world of business. He is the founder and CEO of Encore Healthcare (EHPL). His reported net worth is around INR 750 crores.

Thus, the who’s who from the world of business attended the wedding of Aman Majithia and Anjali to bless the couple. Aman Majithia and Anjali have a son.

Where did Aman Majithia study?

Aman Majithia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Entrepreneurship and Political Science from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business in Pennsylvania, US.

He also earned a specialisation in Political Science, Economics, and Organizational Behavior at the University of Virginia in Virginia, US.

It is interesting to note that Anjali, too, is an alumna of the University of Virginia.

Aman Majithia initially worked as a business analyst at Affiliated Computer Services for about one year, from 2009 to 2010. In 2012, he joined Amsal Chem Private Limited in Gujarat as a director and worked there for more than four years.

In 2017, Majithia founded Vataly — an online-only retail fashion brand. According to its official website, Majithia “never expected to work in the fashion industry but his passion for great design and frustration with the lack of innovation in the retail space led him to build Vataly.”

According to the official website, Vataly works with three factories in India for its products. They are located in Salem and Tiruppur (also known as Tirupur) in Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru in Karnataka. While the Salem factory produces polo shirts, T-shirts are produced in Tiruppur, and shirts are made in Bengaluru.

What sets Vataly apart from most other fashion brands of its type is that the company gives a break-up of the cost of production and the mark-up for every clothing listed for sale on the website. For example, a full-sleeve polo shirt offered for INR 900 on Vataly’s official site lists details such as cost details of fabric, sewing, cutting, pattern development, certification costs and the retail markup.

The brand, therefore, adheres to a transparent system, which helps customers know the minutest details of the product as well as have the clearest assurance that they are not being charged an inflated price on the product. In return, Vataly wins the complete trust of its customers.

Is Aman Majithia involved in Encore Healthcare?

Two years after founding Vataly, Majithia joined Anjali Merchant’s family business, Encore Healthcare. He has since been serving as Associate Director at the company, which is a global contract manufacturer of tablets and capsules for the Indian pharma industry.

Majithia reportedly manages the overall operations and resources of the CMO unit at Encore Healthcare. He is responsible for setting goals and targets, as well as managing the external environment and relationships to create conditions for growth.

It is not clear from reports if Aman Majithia has a share in the family business, though. But both Anjali and Radhika Merchant sit on the Board of Directors at Encore Healthcare. The company’s overall worth is estimated to be around INR 2,000 crore (HKD 18,65,645).

The net worth of Aman Majithia is unclear. There is no report on his personal fortune or what he owns. However, he is certainly worth several crores, depending on the stocks, if any, he holds in Encore Healthcare besides his income from Vataly.
