Jacob Fatu in Walking Boot after SummerSlam

As one member of The Bloodline made his triumphant return Sunday at SummerSlam, another member of the stable might be heading for the shelf.

Jacob Fatu was wearing a boot on his right foot following the show:

Concerns over Fatu’s health were raised almost immediately after he delivered a diving splash to Cody Rhodes onto the announce table outside of the ring. He immediately grabbed his right leg and struggled to get to his feet. As a result, fans assumed he was legitimately injured.

Triple H said in the post-SummerSlam press conference that Fatu got a “little banged up” but didn’t provide any details beyond that.

Fatu made an immediate impact in WWE upon debuting in June. Before this injury, bigger things appeared to lie ahead since Roman Reigns’ appearance at SummerSlam sets up a battle between warring factions within The Bloodline.

Removing The Samoan Werewolf from the picture will throw a wrench into those plans.

Hardy Boyz Met with WWE for On-Camera Interviews

While Matt and Jeff Hardy traveled to Cleveland for SummerSlam, don’t expect to see them competing inside a WWE ring again anytime soon.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported the legendary tag team met with WWE officials only to sit down for interviews that will be utilized in future content.

The Hardys are aligned with TNA Wrestling, though Sapp reported in mid-June they didn’t have formal contracts with the promotion.

Matt and Jeff are tag team royalty, but it’s fair to wonder what they’d bring to the table for WWE as in-ring talent at this point in their careers. They’re well past their prime as performers, and they already had a run as returning legends when they came back in 2017 at WrestleMania 33.

The Hardy Boyz do, however, have a legacy that’s worth celebrating, and it sounds like a project that helps to achieve that aim could be in the works.

Seth Rollins Removed ‘Ref Cam’ after Battery Issue

WWE introduced a new innovation at SummerSlam. It attached a small camera to the earpiece for its referees, giving fans an opportunity to see the action through the eyes of the person in the striped shirt.

Even Seth Rollins, who was the special guest ref for CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre, tried out the new gadget, only to experience some minor hiccups. According to Fightful’s Corey Brennan, Rollins was forced to remove the camera because its battery pack fell off.

Given the circumstances, WWE officials weren’t upset the former world champion unceremoniously ditched the “Ref Cam,” per Brennan.

Punk vs. McIntyre is one time where the “Ref Cam” would’ve been pretty valuable. Punk exchanged words with Rollins throughout the match, and it culminated in the Straight-Edge Superstar hitting Rollins with the Go To Sleep.

Granted, there wasn’t much left to interpretation because the mics around the ring picked up their heated conversation anyway.
