Inter Tourism Expo Accra 2024: Focus is on promotion of brands, destinations, products, says Treku

This year’s edition of the annual Inter Tourism Expo Accra 2024 (iNTTA 2024), is dedicated to the promotion of brands, destinations, products and services. This was disclosed by Emmanuel Treku, who is the Chief Executive Officer and Convener of iNTTA 2024, while speaking on the travel and tourism trade exhibition that is scheduled to hold between September 11 and 13, 2024 at the Akwaaba Village, Accra. With the theme: Sustainable Public Private Partnerships and Equitable Tourism Investments, Treku noted that the focused Business to Business tourism trade show seeks to host thought leaders conference, 150 exhibitors, over 500 B2B visitors, with a focus on connecting destinations to Ghanaian travel market. It will be hosted under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ghana Tourism Authority and the School of Creative Arts, Ministry of Trade and Industry, University of Education, Winneba. According to him, ‘‘the conference will highlight engagement of prospective investors in focused and constructive dialogue geared at stimulating and promoting economic relationships between like-minded public, private and non-gov- ernmental organisations.’’

The objectives of iNTTA 2024, he stated, ‘‘is geared to scale sustainable new markets and provide cost-effective business to business platform showcasing the vast tourism and trade opportunities in Gha- na to global travel market practitioners. ‘‘This will further connect people, brands and culture that will give the opportu- nity to experience the innovative prod- ucts and services of the Ghanaian travel market that will translate into building a sustainable blueprint tourism business for destination West Africa. ‘‘Additionally, the expo will enact Ghana’s position as preferred business tourism destination open for MICE in- frastructure investments.’’

Treku also stressed that exhibitors and destinations exhibiting at the three-day gathering stand to benefit from the value proposition of the expo. These benefits, he disclosed include; Connecting and establishing partnerships with business counterparts in Ghana and other African countries; showcasing your destination, product and services to the Ghanaian and West African travel market as well as the opportunity for real time demonstration and sharing your innovation and ideas with clients and prospects. Other expected benefits from the expo are; gain access to the latest trends in the travel market, with lead- ing local and intern a t i o n a l companies; Attend dai- ly keynote s e s s i o n s , panel disc u s s i o n s and hear from the latest industry movers and shakers; Hear case studies from Hotels, Online Travel Agents, and Global Cruise Lines, Tourism Boards, Travel Management Companies, MICE companies and Discover new des- tinations and technology as rising players share their products and solutions; Expand your knowledge and understanding of the African travellers through real-world case studies; Trade mission en- gagements and collaborations; and Un- derstanding destination Ghana tourism trade requirements.

Some of the areas on focus would in- clude; MICE, Gastronomy Health Tour- ism, Agro Tourism, Sustainable Tourism, Fashion Tourism, Creative Arts, Invest- ments, and Trade. On what to expect, Treku said that a lot of value added activities have been de- signed for the B2B platform. Some of these activities are; Thought Leaders Confer- ence (Panel discussions); Diaspora Forum on doing business in Ghana; B2B Tour- ism Trade Exhibitions; Fixed Business to Business Meetings; Investments Pitch and Funding; Fashion Show; Familiarisation Trips; Networking; and Dinner. Treku, who noted that preparation is already in top gear for the staging of the expo, which is in its fourth edition, expressed delight with the prospect, saying, “We are thrilled to host the 2024 edition of the Ghana Tourism Expo.
