Arsenal May Take Manchester United To Court Over Chido Obi-Martin’s Transfer

Google News Arsenal are reportedly considering legal action against Manchester United regarding the transfer of their former promising young talent, Chido Obi-Martin.

Chido Obi-Martin, a 16-year-old forward who is eligible to play for Nigeria and Denmark, had an impressive record with the Arsenal youth team. He scored 32 goals and provided three assists in 24 games for Arsenal’s under-18 team last season.

Despite his potential, Obi-Martin became available for transfer as his contract with Arsenal had expired, and Manchester United expressed interest in signing him which they did.

The situation has become complex as reports suggest that Manchester United may have to compensate Arsenal due to the player’s age.

While both clubs initially aimed to reach an agreement without involving legal proceedings, it seems that the transfer dispute may end up in court.

As a result, Obi-Martin is currently training individually and has not been officially unveiled as a Manchester United player.

Christopher Michel, a British football journalist wrote on his official X page: “Although Chido Obi Martin’s contract at #Arsenal has expired, I heard that #MUFC can’t just sign him on a free transfer.

“Very complicated… He is, therefore, only training individually and has not yet been presented. Possibly this will go before a court.”
