Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada IRCC announced that it would increase the number of applications it would accept for processing under the Temporary Special Measures for Large Palestinian Families in the Gaza Strip.

In January last year, the ministry said it would process 1,000 applications for temporary visas. The issuance of Traffic Rewards (TRV) to applicants who are family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents currently in Gaza began on May 27th. Immigration Minister Mark Miller IRCC released a statement saying it would expand application processing to 5,000.

He said that over the past few weeks, IRCC has issued more web codes for clients to apply for TRVs, and while acknowledging that travel out of Gaza is currently not possible, he said, “The situation can change at any time. This increase in the limit will allow us to help more people as their circumstances change. Our focus remains on keeping families together.”

Google News How to Apply

Eligible applicants will be required to submit a statutory declaration and a consent form for the disclosure of personal information.

Once this stage is complete, the applicant will need to submit a Web Crisis Form for each household unit that includes the applicant and their family members in Group 1. Each person named on the statutory declaration will be given a unique Web reference code.

IRCC advises applicants to submit their final TRV application promptly upon receiving the code, as the code does not guarantee space.
