Nigeria is a key business destination for today and the future – Reckitt Benckiser

May 28 (THEWILL) – Global fast-moving consumer goods manufacturer Reckitt Benckiser has assured President Bola Tinubu of continuing to grow its investments in Nigeria, describing the country as a key business hub now and into the future.

The company gave the assurance on Tuesday when its delegation met with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The President received a delegation from Reckitt Benckiser led by its Chief Executive Officer, Chris Licht, and Chairman of Reckitt Benckiser Nigeria Limited, Olu Falomo, and commended the company for its over 60 years of investment in Nigeria and its commitment to the country’s development.

“We are creating an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive. I am happy that you are here for the long term. I am pleased that you have decided to stay in the country for many years and invest further. We have embarked on challenging reforms to improve our economy. Our reforms will improve the ease of doing business for partners like you in the coming years,” President Tinubu told the delegation.

He assured investors of high returns on their investments, backed by a booming market and large population.

In his speech, Licht noted that Nigeria is a very important country for the company, saying, “We have done very good business here for many years and I congratulate you on your first year in office. We see Nigeria as an important business location now and into the future.”

Chairman of Reckitt Benckiser Nigeria Limited, Chief Falomo, reiterated the company’s longstanding commitment to Nigeria, saying, “We have committed to inviting our international teams to come to Nigeria and support your endeavours.“They say they’re not going anywhere. We’re here to support this government.”
