Google News down – users fume as thousands discover their feeds are ‘broken’

Google news is currently offline with thousands complaining they can’t see their news feed.

If you can’t see anything in your Google News feed you are definitely not alone. The internet search giant is having major issues with thousands currently seeing blank pages when using this popular content service. The online nightmare appears to have started around 12pm and is still ongoing.

Down Detector, which monitors global tech outages, is currently showing a huge spike in the number of reports that Google News is now offline.




Mirror Online has also seen the issues. A quick look at the News feed shows an image of an upside-down ice cream and a message that reads, “Uh-oh! Something went wrong. Please try again.”

Plenty of Google News users have also taken to Twitter to vent their frustration with one, called Eric, saying, “Maybe someone should let @GoogleNews know their page is broken?”

Another named Carlton added, “Google news feed appears to be down.”

Reports are flooding in from areas including the UK, USA and Canada so it appears to be a widespread issue.

Along with affecting those who use Google News on the web, the outage also appears to hitting Google Discover as well which is a popular way of reading news on smartphones.
