The biggest news is NFL The 2024 season schedule may have been announced last week, but that wasn’t the only news released. The offseason is an exciting time for everyone, but teams are still trying to finalize personnel for the start of the season. We’ve seen rookie camp start, but training camp will be here sooner than many think.

One of the big NFL news this week was quarterback Jared Goff signing a massive extension to remain with the Detroit Lions. He reportedly agreed to a four-year, $212 million contract extension that included $170 million guaranteed.

Goff was rewarded handsomely after leading the Lions to their first playoff victory in more than 30 years. He improved his play each season with the Lions and earned high praise in Detroit. After reaching the NFC Championship Game last season, many rank the Lions as among the favorites to win this year’s Super Bowl.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to terms with star safety Antwon Winfield Jr. on a four-year, $84.1 million contract. He made history with this contract, becoming the first safety to reach this mark. Winfield, his junior, helped the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl a few years ago.

The Buffalo Bills have signed former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a one-year contract worth up to $4.5 million. Valdes-Scantling won two Super Bowls over the years while in Kansas City.

Pittsburgh Steelers star defensive end Cam Heyward, hoping to sign a new contract with the team, has decided not to participate in voluntary training this offseason. He has never missed an offseason program in his long career, showing that he is serious about pursuing a new contract.

Former Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers Tight end Robert Tanyan signs with Minnesota Vikings. He continues his tour of the NFC North under this agreement.

Former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Damiere Byrd signed with the Washington Commanders after working out with them this offseason.

The Bills signed safety Dee Delaney to a one-year contract and also released wide receiver Quintez Cephas. Buffalo has been aggressive in building its roster this offseason after once again being eliminated from the playoffs early.

The Denver Broncos have signed former Chicago Bears punter Trenton Gill to a new contract. Conditions are not disclosed.

The San Francisco 49ers have signed offensive tackle Chris Hubbard to a one-year contract worth $1.375 million. He brings more depth to the equation for the defending NFC champions.
