Goff was rewarded handsomely after leading the Lions to their first playoff victory in more than 30 years. He improved his play each season with the Lions and earned high praise in Detroit. After reaching the NFC Championship Game last season, many rank the Lions as among the favorites to win this year’s Super Bowl.

Another deal was struck in Detroit. The Lions have signed QB Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million contract extension that includes $170 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to terms with star safety Antwon Winfield Jr. on a four-year, $84.1 million contract. He made history with this contract, becoming the first safety to reach this mark. Winfield, his junior, helped the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl a few years ago.
