Al Bitters was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Northport, Louisiana. He graduated from the US Military Academy (West Point) in his 1968 and he served in the Army for 24 years until retiring as a colonel. He was appointed to command and staff positions and served two combat tours in Vietnam, four years in Germany, and one year in Panama. He holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Utah, and has taught management-related courses at Point West, Embry, Riddle Aeronautical University, University of Florida, and most recently St. Joseph’s College. I did. He has conducted and published research on leadership, motivation theory, and organizational change and development. He and his wife Kathy have a son, daughter-in-law, and his three grandchildren. They enjoy traveling, theater, and contributing to local civic and veterans organizations.
