APC Women’s Group Urges Women To Shun Planned Protests

The national chairperson of the All Progressive Congress’s political group – ‘Women Voice Organization’, Hajiya Binta Baba, has cautioned women across the country to distance themselves from the planned massive protests against President Tinubu’s government over economic hardship.

Speaking in Kaduna on Saturday, Hajiya Binta described the planned protests as “ridiculous” and urged aggrieved youths to embrace dialogue instead.

She expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to address the country’s challenges, citing his commitment, expertise, and integrity.

Specifically, the APC women’s group leader advised women to be prudent with available resources, devise alternative means of obtaining commodities, and substitute products to mitigate the effects of economic hardship.

This was even as she appealed to political office holders to emulate the National Assembly’s example where the House of Representatives cut their monthly salaries by 50 per cent to support the rebuilding of the national economy.

She added that the organisation had directed its 36 state branches, including Abuja, to campaign against the planned protests and advised women to desist from participating in unlawful demonstrations

She said, “the unknown youths are planning to gear up for a major protest, pretending to shut down the country’s activities for ten days, which is ridiculous for the economic development of our dear country.

“I’m sure the women in the country will not allow their sixty percent vote cast in favour of President Bola Tinubu’s victory to be wasted.

“I’m confident that President Tinubu, with his commitment, expertise, integrity, dedication, and focus, will tackle the menace of insecurity, hardship, and economic challenges facing the nation.

“We have directed all thirty-six state branches, including Abuja, to conduct campaigns to advise our fellow women against the dangers of unlawful protests and to desist from participating in them.”
