Console Manufacturer Atari has acquired the Intellivision brand, as well as the rights to 200 “certain games,” from parent company Intellivision LLC for an undisclosed amount.
The deal will allow Atari to “expand the digital and physical distribution of its legacy Intellivision games” and potentially create all-new titles. It will also explore branding and licensing opportunities and ” [long-term] Value from Intellivision property.”
As part of its licensing agreement with Atari, Intellivision LLC will continue to develop and publish the Amico home console, and the newly rebranded company will also be allowed to “distribute new versions” of Intellivision games for the system.
Atari is still making acquisitions

Atari CEO Wade Rosen added that the Intellivision acquisition presented “a rare opportunity to unite former competitors and bring together fans of Atari, Intellivision and the golden age of gaming.”

In the past, it has purchased the rights to nostalgic video game franchises. Bubsy and HardballNeither franchise has seen new titles yet, but Rosen previously said: Indie Developer I’m interested in making a new Bubsy.
No specific games were listed among the 200 games acquired, and it’s unclear whether they include Intellivision games currently in development.
