CNN Names Alex MacCallum Executive Vice President of Digital Products and Services

On Wednesday, CNN announced Alex MacCallum as the new Worldwide Executive Vice President of Digital Products and Services. In this role, MacCallum will lead and drive CNN’s suite of digital products, catering to and engaging millions of people globally each day.

MacCallum brings her expertise to the team from The Washington Post. She was Chief Revenue Officer at the Post, leading subscriptions, partnerships, and advertising. 

Furthermore, MacCallum initiated a significant transformation of the Post’s business during her tenure. She restructured the advertising team and advanced the approach to cross-functional collaboration across the company.

After previously serving as the Global Head of Product for CNN Worldwide and General Manager of CNN+, she returns to the network. In her prior roles, she successfully managed product, data, design, growth marketing, and business operations at CNN+. 

During her initial tenure at CNN, MacCallum took the lead in guiding cross-functional teams for the launch of CNN+, a direct-to-consumer streaming service.

Additionally, she restructured the core CNN.com product teams to enhance the user experience. Before joining the network, she spent eight years at The New York Times in diverse roles, including Head of Product for Standalone Products.
