Douyin reorganizes local service department to compete with competitors: report

TikTok’s sister app Douyin has reportedly reorganized its local service division into three geographical regions (northern, central, and southern regions) as competition with Meituan in this field enters a new phase. According to Chinese media outlet Late Post, a new division serving major national retail chains is operating in parallel to the three regions mentioned above. As part of the overhaul, core staff from ByteDance’s merchandising sales division will be transferred to lead four divisions in the local service division, in an effort to speed up the monetization process.
