Specialist teams are on the scene in Dewsbury after a person fell down a hole in the ground, reports indicated.

There have been specialist firefighters, ambulances and paramedics present on the scene on Lees Hall Road, according to eyewitnesses reported by Yorkshire Live. It is currently unclear if anyone has been inured, or what caused the incident.

Police have a cordon in place. Unverfied images on social media show teams the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

The Mirror has approached both emergency services as well as West Yorkshire Police for comment.

Elswhere in West Yorkshire today, police released a family tribute to parents killed in a horror crash on between a car and motorcylce that left six people dead. On Tuesday, West Yorkshire Police named Christopher Barton, 56, and Janine Barton, 48, as the couple who were on a motorbike that was in collision with a Ford Focus on the A61 just north of Barnsley on Sunday afternoon.

A police spokesman said Mr and Mrs Barton had recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. In a statement issued through the force, their son described the couple as “a loving, caring mum and dad who always put me before everything else”.

The family in the Ford – Shane Roller, 33, his 30-year-old partner Shannen Morgan and their daughters Rubie and Lillie Morgan-Roller, aged nine and four – were also killed in the crash, near the village of Mapplewell.

Mr Roller and Ms Morgan’s third daughter was not in the car. A GoFundMe page set up to help support the 11-year-old had reached £280,000 by Tuesday afternoon.

The force also said a a disturbance in the Harehills area of Leeds on July 18 has led to 20 arrests with 40 suspects being identified. The incident saw a patrol car overturned and a bus set alight.

On Tuesday, the force said 20 arrests had been made in total, with 17 directly related to the night’s disorder and three made because of other issues within the area. It said that, following appeals, a total of 40 suspects had been identified.

A spokesman said detectives were using “all available technologies” including facial recognition and analysis of hundreds of pieces of social media content.
