Employment priorities for LGBTQ+ community

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — June is Pride Month and a new study reveals application trends of the LGBTQ+ community.

The study from Indeed.com finds 30 percent of people who identify as LGBTQ+ won’t apply to a company with a perceived lack of support for their community.

So, what are the things LGBTQ+ workers look for in an employer?

Inclusive mental health benefits top the list with 78 percent of job seekers saying access to care is crucial from an employer.

Seventy-two percent want health insurance which includes gender-affirming care.

Other desires of an employer from LGBTQ+ workers include a company which made public declarations in favor of LGBTQ+ rights, display of pride symbols, and health insurance for domestic partners.
