Former Alabama guard Aaron Estrada has been invited to attend G League Elite camp on Monday, according to ESPN NBA Draft Analyst Jonathan Givony.

“News: Alabama’s Aaron Estrada has been invited to G League Elite camp, sources tell ESPN,” Draft Express (Gibbony) posted on X (formerly known as Twitter). He helped lead the University of Alabama to the NCAA Final Four. ”

Estrada declared for the NBA draft on April 16 after playing college basketball for five years at four different schools.

Estrada, 23 and a fifth-year college student, was the oldest player on the Alabama team. The Crimson Tide has five freshmen on the roster who have never played college basketball before, and he could be a leader and mentor to many of the younger players.

Estrada finished the season as Alabama’s second-leading scorer, averaging 13.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. He had a number of notable performances, including becoming the third player in Alabama history to record a triple-double against Ole Miss. But his impact on the team went beyond just his ability to fill out the stat sheet.

A native of Woodbury, New Jersey, Estrada began his career in-state at St. Peter’s University. He spent just one season with the Peacocks before transferring to the high majors, landing at Oregon State in his sophomore season. He did not settle in Eugene, appearing in just nine games and averaging less than 15 minutes per game.

He then returned to mid-major Hofstra, where he not only found his footing, but thrived, playing for the Pride and being named CAA Player of the Year for two consecutive seasons. Thanks to a year of COVID-19, Estrada entered the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility and landed in Tuscaloosa hoping to do something he’d never done before: play in the NCAA Tournament. .
