STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — In a significant operation on Warrenton Road, Stafford County Sheriff’s detectives successfully apprehended Jovan Terrell Ellison, a 36-year-old from Chesterfield, on Wednesday afternoon. Ellison was wanted on charges related to the distribution of controlled substances, stemming from investigations that began in 2023.

During the arrest near the exit ramp from I-95 Southbound, detectives attempted to immobilize Ellison using a rolling roadblock. Despite his attempts to escape, Ellison was arrested after his vehicle was stopped, though the encounter resulted in damage to multiple Sheriff’s Office vehicles and minor injuries to one deputy.

Upon his arrest, a large quantity of suspected controlled substances, including heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, was found in Ellison’s possession. He faces multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and distribution of fentanyl under the Terrorism Act. Ellison is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office praised the Special Investigations Unit for their relentless effort in tracking down wanted suspects, executing search warrants, and removing dangerous drugs from the community.
