Great Deal: Pixel 8a comes with $100 gift card, but Galaxy A35, S23 FE, OnePlus 12R prices drop

Google News

So the Google Pixel 8a costs $500, right? If you look at it, last week’s poll, Most people think this is too expensive for a midranger. That’s true considering the flagship Pixel 8 has come pretty close to this price many times in the past.

But that’s not the case now. Although the Pixel 9 series is still a few months away, the Pixel 8 is currently quite expensive and some colors are nearly out of stock. And 8a has some great deals in it.

For example, Amazon is offering a $100 gift card for the purchase of the Google Pixel 8a. This can be spent on cases, chargers, headphones, and anything else you need (more on headphones later). And keep in mind that this year he has a 256GB option for those who have difficulty fitting into 128GB.

But don’t rush to buy a Pixel just yet. The Samsung Galaxy A35 is $40 cheaper than last week, and even cheaper than the Pixel 8a, even without gift cards. The Pixel offers longer software support (7 years vs. 4 OS updates and 5 years of patches for the Galaxy).

The Galaxy A35 has a larger display at 6.6 inches and 6.1 inches, and whether that’s a good or bad thing depends on you. The bigger battery (5,000mAh vs. 4,492mAh) is definitely a good thing, but there’s no wireless charging (the Pixel has 7.5W). Note that the Galaxy has a microSD slot.

If you have $500 to spend, why not buy the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE? It’s still the same price last week, which means the 8/128GB model will cost $500 and the 8/256GB model will cost $560. Coincidentally, the same memory options cost the same as the Pixel, but don’t include gift cards. Therefore, S23 FE will be more expensive.

Tensor G3 doesn’t have a great reputation, but it’s actually better than Samsung’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. You get an 8MP 3x telephoto camera with Galaxy and in-sensor zoom on Pixel and Samsung DeX. Android 15 may offer a desktop environment, but it’s not as mature as DeX. The S23 FE is on the same update schedule as the A35, but since it’s already a year old, the Pixel has an even bigger advantage.

OnePlus 12R is $70 cheaper than last week. There’s only one memory option, but 16GB of RAM confuses both Samsung and Google. Storage is 256GB and cannot be expanded. The 12R features Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (leaving Tensor G3 behind) and an LTPO display, which other phones don’t have. The water resistance rating is poor at IP64, but that doesn’t really matter. The battery is larger than other batteries at 5,500mAh, and although it only has wired charging, it charges at 80W.

If you choose the Pixel 8a instead of these products, what would you spend your $100 gift card on? Why not spend an extra $40 and get the Pixel Buds Pro? These work in conjunction with the live translation AI that Google is actively developing.

Or, if you’re an Apple user, you can buy Beats Studio Buds. These are pretty old at this point, but they’re marked down to just $100 and come with two years of his AppleCare for the headphones, so you can rest assured. Equipped with ANC, the earbuds allow up to 8 hours of listening time (24 hours total with case).

Beats Fit Pro is expensive, but it’s designed for sports. This means they have rubber wings on the buds for a more secure fit during exercise, and they have an IPX4 splash-resistant rating so you don’t have to worry about rain or sweat. Powered by the Apple H1 chip, it lasts 6 hours on its own (24 hours total with the case).
