How These 3 Federal Lawmakers Died Weeks Apart

Ekene Adams

The most recent loss occurred when Ekene Adams, aged 39, passed away unexpectedly. Adams had a notable career in sports management before joining politics, having managed top football clubs like Kada City FC and Remo Stars. 

His sports background earned him the position of Chairman of the House Committee on Sports despite being a newcomer to the House.

Adams’ death was particularly shocking due to his young age and the vibrancy he brought to his role. His passion for sports and youth development was evident in his legislative priorities, and his absence will be deeply felt not only by his constituency of Chikun/Kajuru but by the entire sports community.

Olaide Adewale Akinremi

Olaide Adewale Akinremi, affectionately known as ‘Jagaban’, passed away at the age of 51. Representing Ibadan North in the House, Akinremi was a prominent figure, known for his commitment to his constituents and his passion for advancing science and research. 

As the chairman of the House Committee on Science and Research, he championed initiatives that aimed to foster economic growth and social welfare through scientific advancement.

Isa Dogonyaro

Just weeks before Akinremi’s passing, the House had lost another member, Isa Dogonyaro, who represented the Babura/Garki constituency of Jigawa State. Dogonyaro’s death followed a brief illness, the details of which were not widely disclosed.
