Google released his 256GB Pixel 8a for $559, but at the time of this writing, it was only available in the Obsidian colorway. Fans have been waiting for a more affordable phone to come out. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro was released last fall, and once again it looks like Google has budgeted to beat Android.

That’s not the only interesting news when it comes to pricing. Google will give him a $100 Google Store credit until May 19th when you purchase a Pixel 8a. The official release date for 8a is May 14th.

The Pixel 8a has a slightly less powerful battery than the Pixel 8, one less microphone, and no spatial audio. It also comes in the same colorways as the Pixel 8 Pro (Obsidian, Bay, and Porcelain), plus one additional color, Aloe (with less overlap with the Pixel 8: Obsidian, Rose, Mint, and Hazel) .
The Pixel 8a is barely smaller than the Pixel 8, with only a 0.1-inch difference in display size. It also has the same 64 MP Quad PD wide camera, 13 MP ultrawide rear camera, and 13 MP front camera as the 7a. Considering the 7a showed significant improvements over the previous generation, it’s no wonder Google didn’t opt for major changes just a year later.
