Local presenter, actor and restaurant owner Ben Yeo has been married for 18 years but still has some regrets about his marriage.
It’s not that he married his wife, Claudia Chung, with whom he has two sons, but how quickly they got married.
The 45-year-old spoke candidly about the matter with fellow actor Desmond Ng in a video uploaded by Mediacorp’s The Celebrity Agency yesterday (May 22).
“When do you want to get married?” Ben asked Desmond.
Desmond, 36, replied: “The last time I wanted to get married I was 27, but I was so focused on my career that 10 years passed.”
But Desmond finally hinted that he was ready, saying, “Soon.” [to get married]” “.
In defiance of Ben, Desmond sees Ben on TV and says, [he] He was still young,” he said, pointing out his “Japanese-influenced style” early on in his career.

Ben began his career as a presenter on Channel U in 2002 and made his acting debut in 2005. The following year, he shocked everyone by marrying Chung at the age of 28.
“Even my boss fell off his chair,” he added.
Ben said things might have been “better” if he and Chung hadn’t married so soon, but added: “It’s over now. [point] “I regret it.”
Continuing on the topic of love, Ben also asked Desmond which celebrity he would date if he were single.
“Zoe Tay. She’s like a goddess to me and someone I’ve looked up to since I was a little girl,” Desmond replied.

Desmond asked Ben which he would choose, showbiz or the food and beverage industry, if he only had time for one, and Ben chose the latter.
“I feel like a career in showbiz has a time limit, so I can’t act forever,” he explained. “I’ve been acting for 22 years, so I don’t know how much longer I can do it. But I’ve just started in the food and beverage industry, so there’s room for growth.”
Having dabbled in several food and beverage ventures over the years, Ben opened Tang Shan Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat restaurant in Toa Payoh last year in collaboration with celebrity chef Khao Yong. They also recently opened a wet market-themed kopitiam called Tang Shan Chai Chee in April.
He added, “At least I can leave my business to my kids, but I can’t leave my showbiz career to them.” “A really good father.”
