Kindle crash prevents users from downloading books, Amazon working on fix

According to multiple reports, Kindle users around the world are experiencing issues downloading new and previously purchased books to their devices. Amazon has confirmed the issue and is working to resolve it, but it may take up to 48 hours for a final fix.

Here’s What We Know

The outage, which was reportedly first noticed on Wednesday, 3 July 2024, prevents users from downloading books to their Kindle devices, even if they were previously purchased. Troubleshooting attempts, such as rebooting the device, deleting and re-downloading books, and registering and re-registering the Kindle, have proven to be futile.

Amazon has confirmed the issue on its support forums, stating that they are working to resolve the problem.

The Good e-Reader website, which covers e-book news, reported that it may take at least 48 hours before e-books start downloading again, but it could take longer.

Although the outage affects Kindle devices, users can still download ebooks from the Kindle app for iOS and Android.

Many Kindle users have expressed their frustration on social media and forums, with some claiming that the problem is affecting their ability to read ebooks they have previously purchased.

Amazon has not provided any information about the cause of the failure.
