Known Fentanyl Dealer Arrested During Traffic Stop near Austin | Texas

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — A traffic stop in Williamson County led to the arrest of a known fentanyl distributor, authorities said.

On February 27, 2024, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Unit stopped a 2021 Dodge Charger for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Lacy Jones, of Katy, Texas, was found with a firearm, narcotics, and a large amount of U.S. currency during a vehicle search, according to the press release.

Further investigation revealed Jones was a known fentanyl distributor. The Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Unit collaborated with the DEA and the United States Marshals Service (USMS) throughout the investigation. Jones was arrested on June 18, 2024, in Williamson County on a federal indictment for conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute fentanyl. The USMS Lone Star Fugitive Task Force took Jones into custody.
