Liberals implement digital services tax

The Trudeau government has put into force a digital service tax that has drawn criticism from the U.S.

The tax was included in sweeping legislation implementing the Liberals’ 2023 fall economic statement that was passed by Parliament last month.

But the legislation didn’t set out a date in which the tax would come into force, leaving that up to cabinet to determine.
