ALMENA TOWNSHIP, MI – A man was arrested Friday, June 28 after police say he stabbed a man he lived with during a fight.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded around 9:10 p.m. to the reported stabbing on M-43 near 29th Street in Almena Township, a news release said.

Police say the men lived together at that location and were both under the influence of alcohol when they started arguing about “food and employment.” A 22-year-old man then allegedly stabbed a 21-year-old man in the chest, according to a news release.

The victim was stabilized on scene and transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

The 22-year-old is currently lodged at the Van Buren County Jail on a charge of assault with intent to commit murder.
