Doors used to have little things called peepholes, but now you can see who is at your door without getting off the couch. Thanks, video doorbells! A battery-powered Google Nest Doorbell is a great option for renters looking for an easy, temporary video doorbell without much installation involved, especially if you already have Google devices at home.

Currently, you can get the battery Google Nest Doorbell for $99.99 (down from $179.99), or a wired Nest Doorbell for $129.97 (originally $179.99). Both represent the lowest prices the devices have reached, according to price checking tools.

Though they don’t rank with the best video doorbells, these Nest doorbells camera offer a 145-degree field of view, 1,280-by-960-pixel video at 30fps, 3:4 aspect ratio (which shows feet of visitors, so you’ll likely be able to see your packages sitting on the porch), night vision, 6X digital zoom, two-way audio, and up to six months of battery life, according to PCMag’s “good” review.

Because this is a Google product, it doesn’t have Alexa, HomeKit, or IFTTT compatibility. You can see who rings your doorbell on devices like the Google Nest Hub, and hear doorbells on your smart home speakers or phone. The biggest downside is that recordings are stored in the cloud for free only for the first three hours. If you want to see all of the videos, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription, which starts at $6 per month or $60 a year.
