The Gauteng Care Crisis Committee and non-profit organizations marched to the Provincial Department of Social Development in Johannesburg on Friday to protest the delayed payments.

The nonprofits said they were outraged by the department’s slowness in finalizing service level agreements (SLAs), failure to make payments, and lack of communication.

They said this had resulted in the reduction of NPO staff and the closure of centers across Gauteng.
