Residents of Simanyene in Strand, Cape Town, could not sleep on Wednesday night because their shacks were flooded.
Lindiwe Pamle, a 53-year-old mother of five, said she could not sleep because she had been trying to get the water out of her shack.
Pamle pleaded with government to build her a house because the cold made her sick.
