European payments technology company Nexi has announced that merchants in Italy can now accept in-person contactless payments using Tap to Pay on iPhone, with the service set to gradually expand to other European countries where it is available.

Tap to Pay on iPhone allows retailers to accept contactless payments with credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets without the need for additional hardware. Retailers can facilitate transactions using an iPhone and the Nexi SoftPOS app.
