Oakville Grocery & Wine Merchant Expands Its Hours of Operation with New Additions to the Property and Series of Upcoming Events

California’s Oldest Operating Grocery Store Continues Tradition of Excellence, Making its Wine and Artisanal Offerings More Accessible to Locals and Visitors. 

OAKVILLE, CALIF. (June 3, 2024): Oakville Grocery & Wine Merchant, the oldest continually operating grocery store in California and one of the oldest grocery stores in the U.S., has expanded its hours of operation to become more accessible to locals and visitors with the introduction of a new ongoing series of events, including Locals and Industry Professional Nights every first Thursday, Sunset Social every Thursday through Saturday weekly, Wine Down Weekends every Saturday weekly, in addition to seasonal fare, such as the Wine Discovery Series with Clare Tooley, M.W. 

Oakville Grocery has become widely known as one of California’s premier epicurean and wine destinations, now featuring a newly constructed outdoor bar (affectionately named The Rabbit Hole), where guests can enjoy wood-fired pizzas, housemade frosé, and wines by the glass or bottle from the neighboring Oakville Wine Merchant, as well as live musical performances and 

DJs throughout the summer months. Wine Down Weekends and the Wine Discovery Series with Clare Tooley, M.W., are inspired by the Wine Merchant’s exceptional collection of Napa Valley’s most highly-sought after wines, and the winemakers who regularly appear to share and present their wines.
