Once unstoppable, government digital service reform hits a wall in Canada

OTTAWA — When the Ontario government killed the Ontario Digital Service in a departmental reorganization in March, it ended a seven-year experiment in transforming a massive organization for the internet age.

Another such experiment is still going on with the Canadian Digital Service, but it’s followed much the same track as its Ontario cousin—and one of its founders worries that it’s on borrowed time.
