SALEM, Ore. —
Good news on the employment front: the Oregon Employment Department says 4,000 non-farm jobs were added in May.
This followed a revised gain of 2,400 jobs in April.
The biggest gains were in health care and hospitality, while the biggest losers were retail and construction jobs.
Oregon’s unemployment rate has held steady at 4.2% since February and has been at or below that percentage since October 2021.
