Pottermore Publishing has announced the upcoming release of “From the Wizarding Archive: Curated Writing from the World of Harry Potter,” set to be published on August 29, 2024. This collection will feature 80 articles and anecdotes originally written by J.K. Rowling for Pottermore.com, now available on WizardingWorld.com. It’s important to note that this anthology does not contain new writings by Rowling, but rather compiles existing content in a new format. The anthology will be released in eBook and digital audiobook formats, with pre-orders already available in English. It marks the first time this content will be available in audio format, exclusively through Audible.

A unique feature of this collection is the fresh editorial content provided by the Pottermore Publishing team, which will link the various pieces together. Additionally, Evanna Lynch, known for her role as Luna Lovegood in the film adaptations, has contributed a heartfelt foreword to the anthology. For the audiobook edition, the main narration will be performed by Lynch herself, with additional voice actors Hugh Quarshie, Finlay Robertson, and Lara Sawalha reading Rowling’s original articles. It’s worth noting that this is not Evanna Lynch’s first work in a Wizarding World audiobook, since she already participated in the audiobook version of The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Jennie McCann, Managing Director of Pottermore Publishing, stated, “The articles provide an unparalleled insight into the imagination, writing process, and preparation that lay behind the much-loved Harry Potter stories.”

The eBook will be released in two volumes, with Volume One containing 45 newly curated articles and Volume Two featuring 35 previously published pieces from the 2016 “Pottermore Presents” series. A combined edition will also be available.

Following the English release, translations in German, French, Italian, and Spanish are scheduled for November, with more languages anticipated in the future.

Pottermore Publishing has committed to donating all author royalties to the Lumos Foundation on behalf of J.K. Rowling, with a minimum expected donation of £1 per copy sold.

While the content is not new, this publication offers fans a curated and accessible way to explore the lore and backstory of the wizarding world, providing organized insights into its characters and settings.
