Prime Minister Andrew Holness yesterday tweaked his cabinet, reappointing two members and appointing new faces.

Senator Dr. Dana Morris Dixon has become the administration’s new Minister of Information. The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) announced on Monday evening that he will also continue with portfolio responsibility for skills and digital transformation. Morris Dixon will replace Robert Morgan, who has become head of the Department of Economic Growth and Job Creation. The portfolio of works was overseen by Everard Warmington, who resigned from his cabinet in February following comments after the local government election.

Senator Abuka Fitz-Henry has been appointed Parliamentary Secretary to OPM. A parliamentary secretary is a government party member appointed to assist a senior minister. The change is scheduled to go into effect on May 21, according to a statement from OPM.

“This adjustment will help the administration.” [to] Morris-Dixon and Fitz-Henry were both appointed to the Senate last May.
