Provincial trainings for public employment services counsellors in Indonesia

Acknowledging the key role of employment services in assisting jobseekers in times of economic transformation in Indonesia and the dire need to provide training on counselling for the staff of BINAPENTA (Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) Indonesia), the ILO and BINAPENTA prepared a three-tiered learning strategy for 2023-2024 consisting of: 

• An online training in Bahasa on basic operations and activities of employment counsellors (November 2023)
• An in-person training of trainers for selected successful attendees of the online training (December 2023)
• Roll out trainings to the remaining employment counsellors at the provincial level who were not trained as trainers under activity B (first half of 2024). 

Participants of the provincial trainings are trained by trainers who participated in the online self-learning and in-person capacity building session held in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2023. The main objective of these workshops is to build capacity of public employment services counsellors in Indonesia to effectively manage public employment services, extend career guidance, and cultivate skills development for jobseekers. The provincial training dates are as follows:

• Bogor, Indonesia 6-8 March 2024
• Bali, Indonesia 20-22 March 2024
• Surabaya, Indonesia 24-26 April 2024
• Padang, Indonesia 6-8 May 2024
