Radhika Merchant wore a 65-year-old vintage Dior dress for Ambani’s Portofino bash

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s second pre-wedding celebrations ended at the picturesque Italian fishing village of Portofino on Saturday. After a series of extravagant events aboard a cruise ship that sailed from Cannes, the Ambani family’s celebrations culminate in an opulent ‘On Land Portofino’ day on June 1. And, the soon to be Ambani bride, the fashionista Radhika Merchant wore an archived vintage Dior cocktail dress from 1959. Here are the details of the dress.

Showcasing the old vintage charm, the bride-to-be Radhika Merchant picked a lovely silk cocktail dress in red for her ‘Italian Summer’ La Dolce Vita experience. The dress was displayed at MET Museum, New York and was designed by Algerian-born designer Yves Saint Laurent.

The website of the MET Museum, lists the dress as a gift of Joyce von Bothmer, 1976 and was made for the House of Dior in 1959-60 for their fall/winter collection. The Costume Institute’s collection of more than 33,000 costumes and accessories represents five continents and seven countries of fashionable dress and accessories for men, women and children.

Radhika paired with the dress with a Hermes Kelly bag, Hangisi Flats. She accessoried the look with minimal earrings.

Anant will marry Radhika Merchant on July 12, 2024, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The three-day celebration begins with the “Shubh Vivah” on July 12, followed by the “Shubh Aashirwad” on July 13, and concludes with the “Mangal Utsav” on July 14.
