SF drug dealer arrested with over 1,700 grams of fentanyl: DA

(KRON) — Yohan Murillo-Medina, a drug dealer based out of San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, was sentenced to 32 months in prison on Wednesday, U.S. District Attorney Ismail J. Ramsey announced. The 22-year-old San Francisco resident pleaded guilty to his charges in February.

On the morning of Jan. 30, Murillo-Medina was sporting a backpack near the corner of Golden Gate Avenue and Hyde Street. Upon noticing police nearby, prosecutors said Murillo-Medina started running away.

The DA’s office said the foot chase ensued for “several blocks” until Murillo-Medina stopped and was soon after detained. Police recovered his backpack and jacket, which, according to the DA’s office, had the following:

• 1,749.9 grams of fentanyl
• 20.7 grams of “a substance containing methamphetamine”
• 26.7 grams of alprazolam (benzodiazepine) pills
• 132.1 grams of marijuana

Later, the 22-year-old admitted to running because “he thought the officers were going to arrest him for possessing and trying to distribute the controlled substances in the backpack and jacket,” the DA’s office said.

On April 11, 2023, a federal grand jury indicted Murillo-Medina, charging him with one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Another count was charged for fentanyl. The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to both counts.
