a sky news Journalists were forcibly removed from an event where British Chancellor Rishi Sunak launched the Conservative Party’s election campaign.

Political correspondent Darren McCaffrey walked out of the room live on TV just as Mr Sunak was about to take the stage at an event at London’s Excel Centre.

McCaffrey told Sky News viewers he was sent off because “pool conditioning was taking place” – meaning the event had already been filmed for a group of British broadcasters.

He was marched down the hallway by security but continued broadcasting live until he reached the elevator. McCaffrey returned to broadcast a few minutes later, only to have been removed from the building entirely.

Producer Josh Guffson portrayed the incident. “Currently, security authorities are forcibly evicting the Sky News team for no reason,” he wrote.

The moment went viral on social media and marked an inauspicious start to Mr Sunak’s campaign, who called the election in Downing Street early on Wednesday. But the rain drowned out his speech. Damaged by D:Ream bombing by demonstrators Things can only get better.
