Today’s ‘Wordle’ #1,100 Clues And Answer For Sunday, June 23 Puzzle

The popularity of The New York Times‘ Wordle is still going strong, with users across the world still hoping to solve the daily brain teaser.

The online puzzle game, in which users have to guess a five-letter word and are told if they have the correct letters by way of green and yellow grids, currently has millions of daily users. The game had only around 90 users playing every day in October 2021.

Each person may have their own strategy for how they can solve the word puzzle.

Some may like to guess a five-letter word with as many vowels as possible straight away in order to help narrow down the options. Others may pick words with lots of commonly used consonants.

The games creator, Josh Wardle, previously said the mixture of both being a challenge while also solvable is a reason for the game’s success.

“There is a reason that every word is five letters long and that you are allowed six attempts to guess it,” Wardle told Newsweek in 2022. “That might seem arbitrary but, with the prototype version, I tested different word lengths and experimented with the number of tries that players were allowed.

“Through that process of refinement, I figured out that five letters and six tries was the ideal sweet spot,” Wardle added. It’s just limited enough to feel challenging and to make you think, but most of the time people still manage to solve it. So, you feel a real sense of accomplishment.”

Wardle sold the game to The New York Times in January 2022 for an undisclosed a seven-figure sum.
