Visa is rolling out a digital emergency card replacement offering that will promptly deliver a digital card replacement on behalf of card issuers via text or email. Once received, cardholders can authenticate and add the new card into their digital wallet. The service offers a convenient, fast and secure solution that helps enhance travel experiences and boost issuer customer satisfaction.
The launch comes ahead of the US summer travel season. Visa says that digital wallets have become an essential part of the travel experience for many, with 74% of U.S. travelers now using them on their trips.

The loss of a card and the feeling of being stranded,” said Kathleen Pierce-Gilmore, global head of Issuing Solutions at Visa. “Our new digital emergency card solution addresses these very issues. It offers instant, secure access to funds for travelers. And it enables issuers to deliver superior customer service.
