A glimpse of anime, new skins and so much more!

  • Warframe had a big presence at Gamescom this year
  • While we wrap up news that’s slipped under our radar, let’s recap what took place
  • This includes new details on the upcoming Fall update

Well, it seems like only last week we were writing about Gamescom. And that’s because we were, but there was so much news that even some of it slipped under our radar. And in the case of hit action RPG Warframe, there’s some big news about what’s on the way in the coming year.

For one, we now have a name for their fall (autumn to those of you in the UK) update. Koumei & The Five Fates, as it’s called, is inspired by Japanese culture and promises a new Warframe, and a new thunder god-inspired skin for Volt among other things. The full showcase of this update will take place at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, near the end of September.

And the 58th Warframe will also arrive as part of Warframe: 1999 with Cyte-09! There was also a showcase of a new trailer for the upcoming spin-off Soulframe, as well as a glimpse of the upcoming Warframe: 1999 anime short from highly-regarded studio THE LINE. Oh, and be sure to keep an eye out for the next wave of Nightwave Rewards coming on September 3rd.

A frame job

Warframe is one of those games I never expected to make it to mobile. And now that it’s here, it’s a bit like being hit by the kind of stuff you usually slowly learn about a game all at once. Tennocon! New skins! An upcoming expansion with Warframe: 1999! And all of this mere months after it actually hit storefronts, talk about an embarrassment of riches.

And if you’re looking for other great games that have made their mark so far in 2024, be sure to check some of our lists! Our ranking of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far) features some of the top picks from the last eight months.

If that’s somehow not enough, a budget-conscious gamer would be wise to check out our ranking of the top 25 free-to-play titles on iOS and Android to boot!
