About 700 people accepted awards at the St. Clair Center for the Arts, and the show was also broadcast live on Cogeco’s YourTV and will be rebroadcast in the coming weeks.

Mr Naidu said those watching this would have realized the ability of many local companies to scale up and become global players in their respective fields.

“Many of our companies have grown to operate outside of the region and are expanding into the United States and internationally,” Naidu said. “They have weathered some difficult times in recent years and through their resilience and perseverance have developed a successful product and a great team.

“Now they are taking their business up a notch by investing in technology and people. This represents an impressive collection of businesses of quality and how successful they are.”

“This is a great sign that more women entrepreneurs will lead, support, or hold senior management positions,” Naidu said.

“This is a sign that the region is progressing and moving forward in many ways. We are happy about that.

“This is obviously a very heartwarming sign.”

Naidoo added that BEA’s plans for 2025, which coincides with the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce’s 150th anniversary, are in the early stages.

Although nothing has been finalized yet, Naidu said, “We have been discussing ideas for new components with the 150th Committee.”
